Access to sexual health services in the Philippines remains uneven, restricted by cost, geography, and the weight of stigma that still follows conversations around HIV, STI testing, and transition care. Many Filipinos navigate these systems in silence, often without support, while their families struggle to understand care that is rarely explained in ways that feel safe. Against this backdrop, Luxecare — the first private clinical model supported by LoveYourself Inc. in the Philippines, offering premium, confidential, and low-cost sexual health services — is changing how care is delivered and experienced. The opening of its sixth branch at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) marks six years of growth, reflecting a sustained effort to make these services more accessible.

The clinic’s approach centers on HIV and STI testing, services that remain critical in a country where stigma and misinformation continue to affect access and legislation. Free HIV testing and treatment have long been part of Luxecare’s model, alongside STI screening and care that aim to ease the hesitation often tied to getting tested. Preventive options such as PrEP and PEP are also part of their offering, widening the conversation from treatment to protection and long-term health.

This work reflects how attitudes toward sexual health are gradually changing, with testing becoming a part of regular self-care; a mindset that continues to gain ground among younger Filipinos and queer communities. Clinics that adopt this approach contribute to a sense of normalcy around sexual health, one that places dignity at the center of the experience.

A key development in Luxecare’s services comes through its partnership with LoveYourself Inc., a leading Philippine-based non-profit focused on HIV advocacy, prevention, testing, and treatment, particularly for the youth, MSM (men who have sex with men), and transgender communities, grounded in the core principles of “Iiniingatan, Iinaalagaan, at Iinaasikaso.”

Through this collaboration, Luxecare now offers Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT) consultations, a form of medical care that uses hormones to help align a person’s physical traits with their gender identity. For trans Filipinos, access to hormone therapy often involves fragmented systems, limited guidance, and financial barriers. Structured consultations grounded in medical expertise and empathy offer a different path, one that acknowledges both the physical and emotional dimensions of transition.

Luxecare’s PITX branch places these services in a highly accessible location, connecting care to a transport hub used by thousands each day. Proximity plays a role in shaping who gets access, especially for individuals traveling from surrounding areas where specialized services remain scarce.

Luxecare also provides e-consultations, allowing clients to seek guidance without the pressure of an in-person visit. This option addresses another barrier tied to stigma, where anonymity can influence whether someone chooses to access care at all.

Support from public health stakeholders and community advocates continues to build around efforts like these, reflecting a wider recognition of inclusive healthcare as a necessity.

Six years in, Luxecare’s growth reflects a model that connects services with lived realities. HIV and STI testing, preventive care, and gender-affirming support exist within the same ecosystem, shaped by the belief that healthcare should meet people where they are and with respect and clarity.
