BLACKPINK’s LISA was just spotted wearing sporty ballet flats from Filipino label GVN at the K-pop group’s Singapore show. After she made Labubus go viral in 2024, could these shoes be the next big fashion craze?
Mary Jane sneakers and sporty ballet flats went major this year, with brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Puma cashing in on the trend with revived Air Rifts, Samba Janes, and Speedcats. GVN, a local leather goods brand, has also given its take on the shoe with its Ballet Sneakers.
Lisa was spotted wearing Ballet Sneakers in Chrome, silver with pink accents, only one of three other colorways: Clay, a rich dark brown; Ash, black accented with white; and Brick, a light cream color with red accents.
On Instagram, GVN revealed that a representative of BLACKPINK’s team had reached out to the brand days before their concert in the Philippines in November. “Someone from their team reached out to us to ask if they could do a pull-out of our Ballet Sneakers,” GVN said. “We were skeptical at first because it was too good to be true, but we wanted to shoot our shot and see what could happen.”
Lisa then appeared in the shoes on the third night of BLACKPINK’s run in Singapore. “We honestly still can’t believe it! Truly a pinch-me moment,” GVN added.
