“The best part of Filipino music this year is, of course, the community,” Mikki of BGYO told Rolling Stone Philippines while on the FMA red carpet, “and daming nagka-comeback and mas daming nag-rerelease this year. We are very, very happy ‘yan that OPM is continuing to release so much.”

“Filipino music has gotten bigger and wider,” DJ MedMessiah, founder of Morobeats, told Rolling Stone Philippines. “There’s more diversity, from the underground to the mainstream.”

“To see indie music thriving, that’s really awesome to see,” Ena Mori told Rolling Stone Philippines.

“I think it was the fact that so many [Filipino] albums came out this year,” Lola Amour’s Pio Dumayas told Rolling Stone Philippines. “and that so many genres and sounds came out….for all of them to be receiving these [awards] is a big win for all of us.”

“Today’s event is definitely the best part [of OPM this year],” BINI’s Jhoanna told Rolling Stone Philippines, “kasi it’s a celebration and may sama-samang ‘yong mga OPM artists dito.”
