Alternative rock legends Pixies are finally heading to Manila for their long-awaited debut show at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang on May 10, 2026. The concert marks the band’s 40th anniversary, celebrating four decades of shaping modern rock with their signature sound and massive influence.
Formed in 1986, Pixies now consist of frontman Black Francis, Filipino-American guitarist Joey Santiago, drummer David Lovering, and bassist Emma Richardson. The group helped define the sound of late-‘80s alternative rock, bridging punk’s riff writing with pop’s melodic hooks. Their mix of surreal lyricism, jagged guitars, and quiet-to-loud dynamics became a blueprint for countless bands that followed.
Their catalog includes timeless tracks such as “Where Is My Mind?,” which gained a second life in David Fincher’s Fight Club in 1999 and later found viral popularity on TikTokTikTokA social media platform for creating, sharing, and discovering short-form videos, featuring music, trends, challenges, and personalized content. around 2022. Other fan favorites, such as “Debaser,” “Monkey Gone to Heaven,” “Here Comes Your Man,” and “Gigantic,” continue to influence both indie and mainstream artists across generations. Even Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain had cited Pixies as a major influence on his songwriting back when he wrote songs for the album Nevermind back in 1991.
Tickets for Pixies go on sale November 13, 2025, via Karpos’ official ticketing partner, Tickelo.
