The first teaser of the Philippine adaptation of The Good Doctor has just dropped, offering audiences their first look at Inigo Pascual stepping into his role as the titular surgeon.
In The Good Doctor, Pascual plays Luke “Dong” Cruz, a gifted surgeon on the autism spectrum. Diagnosed with savant syndrome, a rare condition in which people with varying developmental orders also possess exceptional abilities, Cruz must navigate his medical career while also learning to connect with the people around him.
The teaser features Pascual donning his surgical robes before stepping into the operating room to save a young girl shot by a stray bullet. The clip also hints at the doctor’s backstory with a flashback that shows him as a young boy playing with his mother (Gelli de Belen), before his father (James Blanco) storms in to accuse him of not being his child.
The medical drama series first aired on television in 2013 as a K-drama starring Joo Won as Dr. Park Si-on. Since then, its story has been adapted in several countries, including Hong Kong, Turkey, Japan, and the United States.
Alongside Pascual, the Philippine adaptation will star Jeffrey Tam, Pearl Gonzales, Tony Labrusca, Mylene Dizon, and Ryan Agoncillo, who will also narrate the series.
The Good Doctor is set to premiere exclusively on TV5 in 2026.
