As of writing, we’re four episodes into the fifth season of Single’s Inferno, and there are 13 hot, single contestants trying to find love on the island. This means that there have already been multiple couples, love triangles, and partner swaps, and it’s sure to only get messier from here.
The premise of the hit Netflix dating show is simple: hot people are left on a deserted island dubbed Inferno, and the only way off is by finding a mutual love interest to join you for a night in Paradise. Now, it may seem straightforward, but Single’s Inferno can get complicated very fast when its contenders are constantly switching romantic partners or getting themselves stuck in increasingly messy situations (ahem, Mina Sue).
So as we make our way through the rest of the season, we thought it would be helpful to keep a regular track of who’s pursuing whom on the island.
This guide will be updated as more episodes are uploaded on Netflix.
Youn Hyun Jae
Hyun Jae currently has his sights on Joo Young, but we’ll have to wait and see if those feelings will be mutual later on in the season. Hyun Jae’s been pretty consistent with his feelings towards the bubbly craft designer, considering that he gave her his first impression vote in Episode 2. Even though he was paired with Ye Jin for the Photo Challenge in Episode 4, he still chose to spend the campfire dinner in Episode 4 cozying up to Joo Young. But can he go up against Jae Jin for Joo Young’s love?
Song Seung Il
It looks like Seung Il has found himself in a love triangle between Mina Sue and Min Gee. The fashion marketing advertiser gave his first impression vote to Mina Sue in Episode 2, but he spent a night in Paradise with Min Gee. And, he gave both his Inner Feeling red chocolates to both girls. Episode 4 ended on a messy cliffhanger for this love trio, with Min Gee asserting her dominance over Seung Il, and Mina Sue confessing that she wants to go on a date with him next. However, he did reveal that he’d want to go to Paradise with someone new (so not Min Gee?).
Park Hee Sun
Oh, poor Hee Sun! She’s spent the last four episodes dropping more-than-obvious hints that she likes Su Been, having chosen him as her partner in the Photo Challenge and getting any chance she can to stand close to him. She spent the campfire dinner sitting next to him, but he once again admitted to liking Mina Sue the most right now. Hee Sun then tried to pivot, confessing in Episode 4’s Truth Game that she’d given a gold heart to Jae Jin. But Jae Jin confessed his love to Joo Young instead. Ouch.
Shin Hyeon Woo
As one of the more consistent contestants on the island, Hyeon Woo’s repeatedly shown that he only has eyes for Go Eun. He gave her his first impression vote and, during the Truth Game, confessed that he likes her. However, as we later find out, he’s also keeping a torch for both Min Gee and Mina Sue. For her part, Go Eun feels the same about Hyeon Woo. For her part, Go Eun feels the same about Hyeon Woo, but she’s also starting to develop feelings for Sung Min.
Kim Go Eun
Go Eun’s kept Hyeon Woo on her radar since the first episode, after noticing that he’s left-handed (and, as she later admitted, she does have a thing for lefties). But that doesn’t mean she’s been consistent with her affection. She gave her first impression vote to Seung Il and later went to Paradise with Sung Min. She chose Jae Jin as her partner in the Photography Challenge and won, allowing her to check the top three dating preferences of any male contestant of her choice. She chose to look at Hyeon Woo’s and found out that she was his second pick. Perhaps determined to become his first pick, Go Eun spends more time with Hyeon Woo during the campfire dinner and admits during the Truth Game that she wants to go to Paradise with someone new.
Jim Jae Jin
Mr. Nonchalant wants to go to Paradise next with Joo Young, although his attraction to her wasn’t so obvious during the show’s first episodes. He spent his first night in Paradise with Ye Jin, although that pairing fizzled out after they didn’t match with their sense of humor. But will Hee Sun’s Truth Game confession sway Jae Jin’s feelings?
Ham Ye Jin
It’s difficult to say for sure who Ye Jin likes at this point in the game. She spent her first night in Paradise with Jae Jin, but admitted that their banter wasn’t really working for her. She then chose Hyun Jae as her photo partner, but he’s focused on trying to get Joo Young’s attention.
Woo Sung Min
Sung Min’s a Paradise regular now, having spent his first night with Min Gee and then his second night with Go Eun. Episode 4 ended with him confessing that his top choice is Go Eun and that he’d like to go to Paradise with her again.
Kim Min Gee
I don’t know how Min Gee can make this even clearer than she already has, but she really likes Seung Il. Even though she chose Sung Min to be her first partner in Paradise, she spent her second night there with Seung Il, and the two had a very laidback, flirty evening together. She chose him again as her partner in the Photo Challenge, and during the Truth Game, she confessed that she wants to go to Paradise with him again. However, it looks like she might have to fight for him, because Mina Sue is keeping Seung Il on her top roster.
Lim Su Been
Despite Hee Sun dropping all her hints, Su Been has made multiple moves on Mina Sue. He gave his first impression vote to her, went to Paradise with her, and when asked during the Truth Game to sit next to the person he likes most, he got up from his table with Hee Sun to cuddle up to Mina Sue. Yikes.
Lee Sung Hun
Does anyone like Sung Hun? Okay, maybe Mina Sue, and Sung Hun have had their eyes on her since the two of them made their debut on the island in Episode 2. Unfortunately, it feels like Mina Sue’s keeping him as a safety pick because she’s constantly switching back and forth between Seung Il, Su Been, and Sung Min.
Lee Joo Young
Joo Young likes Jae Jin the most right now, but it looks like Hyeon Woo is a close second. She gave her first impression vote to Hyeon Woo, but eventually went to Paradise with Jae Jin. She chose Hyeon Woo again as her partner in the Photo Challenge, but then confessed during the Truth Game that Jae Jin is her current top choice.
Choi Mina Sue
Oh, where to begin with Mina Sue? As the most indecisive contender on the island, Mina Sue can’t make up her mind between Seung Il, Su Been, and Sung Hun, all three of whom gave her their first impression votes (wow, Miss Popular over here). She, in turn, gave her vote to Seung Il, but she chose to go to Paradise with Su Been.
For the Photo Challenge, she chose both Sung Hun and Sung Min as her partners, which drew her closer to the latter. She later said that her top choices were Sung Hun, Su Been, and Sung Min, and even said that she’d want to go to Paradise with Sung Min. But she also ended Episode 4 confessing her attraction to Seung Il, much to Min Gee’s chagrin (there was a lot of passive-aggressive eye rolling this episode).
