BINI is now officially the newest ambassador of the Department of Tourism. On July 3, the Nation’s Girl Group met with Tourism Secretary Maria Bernardita “Dita” Angara-Mathay during a courtesy call in Makati City. The Department of Tourism described BINI as “Ambassadors of the Philippines,” with the group set to help promote tourist destinations across the country. Angara-Mathay told the media that the department is aiming for a “sustainable long-term” partnership with the group.
According to a report by ABS-CBN, Angara-Mathay said she had made the right choice in appointing BINI to the role. “I am so happy. They have so many ideas,” Angara-Mathay said in an interview. “Sometimes the young people can direct a whole generation, whole bureaucracy to go a certain direction which will connect with the larger population. They are delightful and talented people.”
BINI leader Jhoanna Robles was eager to share the group’s ideas for promoting the Philippines through its partnership with the DOT. “Sobrang dami namin gusto i-suggest,” Robles said. “Mag-meeting muna kami. ‘Yan ang special sa BINI. We are from eight different provinces. Nasimulan na namin before and now we are grateful we have the support of the government. Mas malaki na.”
Meanwhile, BINI’s Mikha Lim expressed the group’s commitment to taking on the role as ambassadors. “Nation’s Girl Group for us is representing the Philippines the best way we can,” Lim said. “Not just as artists but as human beings. Our goal is to represent the Philippines worldwide and be good role models.”
Assistant Secretary Ren Sapitan also recognized BINI’s influence in reaching audiences not only in the Philippines but abroad, adding that the group has already become ambassadors through the milestones they have achieved.
Last April 2026, BINI made their debut at Coachella Music & Arts Festival. On May 6, the girl group was honored by the Philippine Senate for the performance, recognizing BINI as the first Filipino act to perform at the festival.
