Beyoncé’s ‘B’DAY’ 20th Anniversary Edition Comes With Unreleased Tracks, Remixes, Collaborations

On September 4, Beyoncé celebrates the 20th anniversary of her seminal sophomore album B’DAY with a remastered reissue. The album contains the hits “Irreplaceable,” “Déjà Vu,” “Beautiful Liar,” and “Ring the Alarm.” The B’Day anniversary album contains 31 tracks, including previously unreleased material, B-sides, remixes, and new collaborations with Colombian rapper Maluma and the late Selena Quintanilla.

One of the deluxe edition’s biggest surprises is “Irreemplazable (Como La Flor),” which combines Beyoncé’s Spanish version of “Irreplaceable” with Selena’s “Como La Flor.” According to Beyoncé’s management Parkwood Entertainment, Selena’s estate granted permission for the posthumous duet. Beyoncé had mentioned her as a massive influence on the Spanish-language material she recorded during the B’DAY era.

Moreover, the album also contains new tracks like “Can I Watch You,” produced by Beyoncé and Pharrell, and “Morning Dew (Donk),” which was released in July and a JAY-Z-assisted remix followed in August.

The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 back in 2006. It also earned Beyoncé the Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album the following year. The album was also nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for “Ring the Alarm,” while “Déjà Vu” earned nominations for Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
