Filipino-American pop and R&B superstar Bruno Mars confirmed on January 5 that his long awaited next album has been completed. The announcement arrived through a single post on X that succinctly read, “My album is done.”

The upcoming release will mark Mars’ first solo album since 2016’s 24K Magic, which produced hit singles like “That’s What I Like,” “Versace on the Floor,” and “Finesse,” later going on to win Album of the Year at the 2018 Grammy Awards. In the years since, Mars never disappeared from the pop culture conversation. He partnered with Anderson .Paak to form Silk Sonic, releasing 2021’s An Evening With Silk Sonic — a project that earned multiple Grammys including Record and Song of the Year for “Leave the Door Open” in 2022.

More recent collaborations underline his continued pull across genres and generations. Tracks like “Die With a Smile” with Lady Gaga and “APT.” with Rosé in 2024, which extended his reach in different fanbases. The collaborations kept his name firmly present in charts, playlists, and awards discussions.

With his latest album now finished, anticipation centers on what direction Mars chooses next. Whatever shape it takes, the timing suggests another statement release from an artist who continues to define longevity in modern pop.
