Sub-unit NCT 127 announced their upcoming seventh album, BLINGY, on social media. SM Entertainment announced that the nine-track album will be released on August 24. The album will be part of the seven-member group’s celebration of its 10th anniversary since debuting in 2016 as an NCT sub-unit. NCT 127 is known for releasing a genre-spanning lineup of singles such as “Fire Truck,” “Cherry Bomb,” “Regular,” and “Fact Check,” to name a few.
Last April, NCT announced activities celebrating its 10th anniversary, including a pop-up store and an exhibition commemorating the group’s journey. According to The Korea Herald, SM Entertainment announced a rollout of album releases from its respective NCT units (NCT 127, WayV, NCT Dream, and NCT Wish). In addition to that, both NCT 127 and WayV will embark on tours, while NCT Dream will hold a fan meeting.
BLINGY will be NCT 127’s first album since former members Mark and Winwin left the group and SM Entertainment. Mark departed last April and Winwin followed last July. Other members Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, and Haechan extended their contracts on July 15.
NCT 127’s last album, WALK, was released in 2024.
