When 28-year-old Eric Barone, who is known as ConcernedApe, created Stardew Valley in 2016, little did he know that what began as a one-man passion project evolved into one of the most influential role-playing games of the past decade. It earned praise from players and developers alike for its heartfelt design and refreshing take on the farming simulation genre.
As the game celebrates its 10th anniversary, its next chapter unfolds with Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons – a global concert tour that will make its Manila stop on April 25, 2026 at The Theatre at Solaire. It will be led by Thai conductor Thanapol Setabrahmana, who is recognized as one of his country’s most promising young maestros. He will lead the orchestra through the video game’s soundtrack, which was composed by Barone himself.
Presented by Film Concerts PH in partnership with SOHO Live, the event is particularly noteworthy as it is co-produced with the developer himself, ensuring an authentic representation of the game’s musical soul.
The setlist promises to be a journey through Pelican Town’s changing seasons, featuring fan favorites like “Stardew Valley Overture,” the springtime anthem “(Spring) The Valley Comes Alive,” and the ethereal “Dance of the Moonlight Jellies.” Fans can also expect some surprises, with deeper cuts from the soundtrack likely to make appearances.
For the Philippine gaming community, this concert marks a significant moment in the country’s long relationship with video game culture. In the past, the Manila Symphony Orchestra has hosted several general soundtrack concerts in Ayala Malls and Museums back in 2019, 2022 and 2024. Stardew Valley, however, marks the first indie game to ever headline in a live orchestra in Manila.
As the concert tour makes its way across continents, its Manila stop represents more than just another date on the schedule. It’s a recognition of the Philippines’ thriving gaming scene and the special connection local players have formed with Barone’s creation. For many, hearing these songs performed live will be an emotional culmination of years spent tending virtual farms and building digital friendships.
