Toyo Eatery always throws the best parties, and its 10th anniversary could be its biggest celebration yet.
The Michelin-starred restaurant is set to host a series of special dinners, exhibits, and talks this March to honor the flavors and people behind Barangay Toyo and the community it has built over the past decade.
On March 27 in the Mess Hall at Karrivin Plaza, Toyo will host Talyer Talks, a group of conversations led by some of the most established figures within the Filipino and Asian culinary scene. Speakers for the day include FEATR’s Erwan Heussaff, Greenlight Burgers’ Alvin Cailan, Azuki to Kouri’s Miho Horio, and Lolla’s former head chef Johanne Siy. A post-talks tambay and afterparty is also scheduled, with food and drinks from Cailan, Automat, Crosta Pizza, Curator, Engkanto Brewery, and Will Goldfarb.
Also scheduled is a Collaboration Dinner on March 26, which will feature a six-hands dinner between Toyo Eatery, Inatô, and Will Goldfarb of Bali’s Room 4 Dessert. Currently ongoing exhibitions around Karrivin Plaza include a data visualization installation of Toyo’s history and a display of palayoks created by local potters, both of which run until March 28. And, for those looking for Toyo-themed merch, the restaurant has partnered with Under Maintenance to design a set of curated merchandise.
“Reaching a decade is a really proud moment for us,” shared Toyo’s chef and owner Jordy Navarra in a statement. “We wanted to celebrate the entire ecosystem of people that were with us on this ride, and that made all of this possible. “We also knew we had to do it the Toyo way: collaborative, and focused on the friends and partners whose hard work and creativity always inspire us.”
