During a campaign sortie on Wednesday, April 2, Pasig City congressional candidate Attorney Christian “Ian” Sia jokingly proposed that single mothers have sex with him, to the laughter of some attendees and the disgust of netizens.

Pasig Second District Councilor Angelu de Leon took to social media with a statement condemning Sia’s remarks.

De Leon, an actress, is gunning for a re-election.

Other netizens have also voiced their disgust and said that Sia may be unfit for a place in Congress.

In a post quoting the video on X, another netizen said, “This asshole will literally be one of the people deciding on our national budget if he gets elected.”

“Wala bang magpapa-disbar dito sa kumag na to?!” said one Reddit user in the subreddit r/Philippines.

“Dude should just stop talking, wala naman siyang na-iisway na voters sa pinagsasabi niya, lalo niya lang pinagmumukhang tanga. Partida, abogado pa yan,” said another Redditor.

Sia is running for Pasig representative under the Kaya This coalition with Pasig mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya, first district council bet and Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup-Lee, and second district council bet and actress Ara Mina.
