Meet, Greet & Bye, the latest from acclaimed director Cathy Garcia-Sampana (Hello, Love, Goodbye, Four Sisters and a Wedding) promises tears, jokes, and an all-star cast led by Maricel Soriano, Piolo Pascual, Joshua Garcia, Belle Mariano, and Juan Karlos Labajo.
The family drama follows the Facundo siblings, played by Pascual, Garcia, Mariano, and Labajo, as they come together to support their mother, Mama Baby (Soriano), whose cancer has returned. Although the new trailer doesn’t reveal many details about the storyline, it does feature the siblings struggling to convince their mother to return to her treatment. Meanwhile, the family matriarch is more concerned with ensuring she can attend a meet-and-greet session with Korean actor Park Seo-joon.
The film’s writers, Patrick Valencia and Jumbo Albano, spoke at an event officially launching the trailer on how the story had been inspired by their fears of losing their parents, as well as confronting that type of loss.
“I think what really pushed us to tell this story is that this is our love letter to our parents,” Albano said. “The same way kung paano siya naging love letter ni direk para sa kanyang mga anak.”
The trailer, released on October 8, has already garnered six million views across all social media platforms as of the time of writing. Meet, Greet & Bye releases in Philippine cinemas on November 12.
