Alternative rock staples Typecast and Urbandub are taking their 25th anniversary celebration global with a world tour kicking off in February 2026. The two bands shared a joint post on their socials saying, “We’ve shared stages, stories, and a whole lot of memories. Now, we’re taking it worldwide.” The tour is expected to hit major cities including Singapore, London, Melbourne, and Sydney, with exact venues to be announced soon.
The announcement marks a milestone for two of the most enduring names in Filipino rock. Typecast made a name for themselves through the early 2000s with emotionally charged, emo-leaning anthems like “Will You Ever Learn” and “The Boston Drama,” while Urbandub defined a generation with their blend of heavy, metal-adjacent riffs and heartfelt lyricism heard in “First of Summer” and “Soul Searching.”
Though both bands have evolved sonically over the years, their connection runs deep. They have often shared stages, festivals, and fans who see both as cornerstones of the same movement that shaped the sound of local alternative rock.
Earlier this year, the two groups marked their joint 25th anniversary with shows at New Frontier Theater in Quezon City and Baguio Convention Center last April. The upcoming world tour expands that celebration, reaffirming their legacy and continued relevance in the ever-changing landscape of Filipino rock.
