Former actor Alvin Aragon, husband of former SexBomb Izzy Trazona, has been catching a lot of flak online in the past week after making remarks against women and the LGBTQ+ community. The latest to criticize him is the women’s alliance, GABRIELA.

“Aragon’s tirades, including attempts to dictate what women should wear or how they should conduct themselves, are not merely isolated personal opinions but are manifestations of a systemic culture that seeks to dominate, commodify, and control women,” the group said in a statement.

The statement comes as Aragon’s remarks from his social media channels surface online following controversy regarding Trazona and her trans daughter, Sofia. After the fourth reunion concert of the SexBomb Girls on February 7, Trazona was criticized for being unsupportive of Sofia’s identity and transition.

According to Philstar, Sofia told inquiring followers on social media that she was no longer in contact with her mother. “‘Di na po kami nagkikita ni mama. I also am scared na ‘pag nakita niya na ako ngayon as a trans woman, iba ‘yong reaction na ma-receive ko and ayoko na bumalik sa dark place noong lumabas ‘yong issue. I just want validation and acceptance. Wala nang iba.”

While Trazona asserted that there was no bad blood between the two, Aragon came to her defense, saying, “Ang daming bash ni Izzy. Doon pa lang sa anak niyang pinili ang direksyon maging bading, ang dami na ng bash e kasi hindi daw tinanggap kasi bading” in an interview.

Conflating gender identity with sexual orientation, the StarStruck alum added, “Ano bang sabi sa Bible? God judged homosexuality.”

In addition to these remarks, Aragon also criticized the SexBomb Girls’ other husbands for letting the members wear their stage outfits, and said he didn’t allow Trazona to join the reunion concerts for this reason. “Hindi ko nga hinalikan [si Trazona] until the pastor said, ‘You may kiss the bride,’ tapos papayagan ko siya mag-concert para mag-towel lang, makikita ng gaanong karaming lalaki sa buong Pilipinas?” he said. “Tapos pasasayawin ko na naka-seethrough, labas ang cleavage, labas ang legs? I want to protect my wife. Ako lang titingin kasi ako ang husband.”

In response, SexBomb member Jopay Paguia said she was dismayed that some of the other husbands were namedropped in Aragon’s rant. “Alvin, kung may problema ka, ipagpe-pray ka namin,” she said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Meanwhile, GABRIELA pointed out that Aragon’s statements reflect a culture that objectifies women. “This culture of machismo thrives in a rotten system that treats women as private property and denies them autonomy over their own bodies and lives. By reducing women to objects of judgment and control, such remarks reinforce harmful stereotypes that limit women’s autonomy and dignity.”

“Women are rights-bearing individuals who deserve dignity, respect, and the freedom to pursue their professions without fear of slut-shaming or character assassination,” GABRIELA added.
