Beyoncé is the last person you should be stealing music from, a man who took off with unreleased music and tour plans finds out. In a report by TMZ, Kelvin Evans pleaded guilty to charges including entering an automobile and criminal trespass in Atlanta, Georgia, that were committed back in July during the Queen Bee’s Cowboy Carter tour.
Based on reports from crew witnesses, choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue saw that the trunk window of their rented Jeep Wagoneer was damaged, and two suitcases were stolen from the vehicle. Police at the scene said hard drives containing Beyoncé’s unreleased music, setlists, and tour footage plans for Cowboy Carter were in the missing suitcases.
Surveillance footage showed a red Hyundai driven by Evans stopping right next to the rented car from which the items were taken. Another surveillance video showed the same red Hyundai arriving at an apartment block, with Evans handling suitcases believed to belong to Beyoncé. Heading into the trial, the Atlanta Police Department reported that the items had not been recovered at the time of Evans’ arrest back in August.
Evans was sentenced to a total of five years, serving two years in custody and the rest on probation, according to Rolling Stone.
