On June 5, Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.Ap and Filipino rapper Illest Morena released their latest single “Wind It,” which first debuted at the Filipino Music Awards last October 2025.
The song plays around with dancehall percussion alongside shimmering synths, while Filipino-Canadian R&B singer Fana handles the song’s chorus. According to Illest Morena, she, Apl, and Fana have created the perfect “Filipino summer experience” with “Wind It.” Described as one of her bucket-list collaborations, the track also features Apl.de.Ap rapping, “I work hard / I love hard,” during one of its strong pre-choruses.
Illest Morena caught the attention of music fans with the R&B rap track “Faded (Raw)” in January 2024. Since then, she has collaborated with major Filipino hip-hop acts such as Skusta Clee, Janine Berdin, and Nik Makino. Meanwhile, Apl.de.Ap and his group, Black Eyed Peas, recently won Best Throwback Song for “Rock That Body” at the American Music Awards on May 27.
