NewJeans is finally back but at what cost?
On the night of July 21 (PST), the internet blew up after NewJeans released their first comeback teaser since 2024. All under the banner campaign “2026 Summer of NewJeans,” five videos were released: one group teaser and one for each of the current members: Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein. Not much is revealed in each video except the visual theme of bunnies and ice cream that tied all the individual videos together.
The comeback is bittersweet though as the absence of Danielle Marsh could not be dismissed. Around the same time the 2026 Summer of NewJeans teasers were released, Marsh posted a cryptic yet hopeful message on Instagram under her @dazzibelle account.
“Life gets cloudy sometimes, but the light always finds its way back in,” the post began. “Until then, keep shining.”
Beyond the teasers, no further details have been released by ADOR or its parent company HYBE. As anticipation builds up, it is still unclear if NewJeans will stick to their unique visual and sonic signature that was nurtured by former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin.
