The concrete walls of Social House in Makati will tremble on April 16 when Australian metallic hardcore juggernaut Alpha Wolf brings their “Terrible Days Across Asia” tour to Philippine shores. Slovenian brutalists Within Destruction will be joining the band on tour. They will help turn the venue into a showcase of the genre with local legends and rising forces ready to prove Pinoy metal still hits hardest.

The supporting lineup reads like a who’s who of the Philippine heavy scene’s past, present and future: Greyhoundz are one of the Filipino metal’s pioneers, reshaping the genre since 1997 while still commanding pit chaos like no other. Their 2022 anniversary show at this same venue saw normally reserved diners abandoning tables to join in the fun.

Arcadia is also expected to bring their decades of scene wisdom distilled into new school modern metalcore. Shvriken will arrive with their signature costumes of conceptual brutality, while VIE represents the new blood with psychologically charged lyrics that cut as deep as their riffs. Together, the bill forms a perfect storm of Filipino metal’s evolution.

Other than the usual walls of death consuming entire sections of the venue and crowd surfers flying across the stage, audiences will surely witness the kind of communal aspect that turns strangers into brothers. Social House has proven it can handle the mayhem of live metal music, having survived their 25th anniversary show onslaught where even the seated areas were set aside for the mosh pits. It’s definitely a night that  Manila’s faithful metal fans shouldn’t miss.

The Alpha Wolf “Terrible Days Across Asia” Philippine leg will take place in Social House, Ayala Malls Circuit, Makati. Tickets are priced at P1,000 each via Tickelo.
