Billie Eilish is bringing her current era to the big screen with the announcement of a concert film tied to her ongoing world tour. Titled Billie Eilish: Hit Me Hard and Soft – The Tour (Live in 3D), the film was captured during her sold-out run in support of her latest album and will be directed by Eilish and James Cameron, an unexpected pairing that is about to draw attention across music and film circles.
The project marks Eilish’s first full concert film and centers on documenting a defining stretch of her career. Shot in 3D, the film places viewers inside the scale and intimacy of her live performances, translating the emotional swings of the Hit Me Hard and Soft setlist into a cinematic experience. Cameron’s involvement points to a focus on immersion, reframing the standard tour document as a theatrical event shaped by his long-standing interest in technology and new ways of filmmaking. “We’re using tech that’s never been used before,” Cameron says in the film’s trailer.
Beyond the spectacle, the concert film balances arena-scale moments with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage.
