beabadoobee and her band went hard on the sweeping Lollapalooza crowd with a career-spanning set and an infectious frenetic energy. On the festival’s final day, the Filipino-British musician served as the penultimate act on the T-Mobile Stage, one of Lolla’s two main stages.

It isn’t her first time performing at the Chicago music festival, the first being in 2023, a year after the release of her sophomore album, Beatopia. She also did a set at one of Lollapalooza’s official aftershows on Friday, July 31 (CDT). Her performance on Monday, August 3 (PHT) featured even more music off 2024’s This Is How Tomorrow Moves and singles from her upcoming album, Pylon.

beabadoobee started her 16-track set with one of those singles, “Sun Has Set,” before going into Beatopia’s “10:36.” From there, she went on to “Further Away,” but unlike the softer-sounding studio version from her debut album Fake It Flowers, this live version is a lot louder, edgier, and head-bang-inducing.

She then moved on to “Apple Cider,” “I Wish I Was Stephen Malkmus,” and “Take A Bite” before slowing things down with “All I Did Was Dream of You,” a recent collaboration with The Marías. Other songs in the set include her 2022 hit “the perfect pair,” “Pictures of Us,” “Switchblade,” “Post,” and “Worth It.”

She also played fan favorites like “Talk,” “She Plays Bass,” and “Cologne,” which had beabadoobee and her band jumping around onstage. The alternative rock musician wrapped things up with “Beaches,” from This Is How Tomorrow Moves

beabadoobe’s latest Lolla set comes a month ahead of the release of Pylon. The upcoming LP is expected to bring in harder rock sounds, with a lineup of features that include rock luminaries such as Hayley Williams, Turnstile’s Brendan Yates, and Deftones’ Chino Moreno.
